Eye infections are not uncommon in children but any recurrent “infection” may not actually be an infection.
If your child is having recurrent or consistent redness, tearing, pain, and / or light sensitivity this may be a sign of a more serious condition than a typical eye infection. Bacterial eye drops only work for bacterial infections. If the redness returns after eye drops, it may be a sign that something else is the root cause.
We try to prioritize these cases the same day, if not the same week. Please call us at (972) 758-0625 if this sounds like something your child is having.
